Our client, an award-winning multinational business are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join their talented team in Gloucestershire. The business are going through and exciting period and this would be the perfect time to join. Working in a vibrant environment as an integral member of the data operations team, you will drive the migration of a market leading analytics data warehouse into the cloud, and develop a new data warehouse to improve capacity and support ambitious growth plans. This exciting role gives you an opportunity to utilise your existing data warehouse and data skills and apply them to the cloud.
This varied and interesting role would be best suited for an individual who enjoys making a difference and being challenged daily. You will be tasked with the design and build of the next iteration of company data warehouse, leveraging the benefits of cloud platforms, and optimising the data model to support a wide range downstream analytical activity. As a proactive individual, you will maintain the existing on-premise date warehouse, migrate the on-premise data warehouse to a cloud platform, as well as maintain and migrate SSIS processes to a cloud platform. In addition, you will design new data pipelines using cloud-based tools, improve data quality and supporting customers. Your strong commercial awareness and continuous improvement approach will help you identify any opportunities for enhancing and optimising existing processes.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in developing a data warehouse while experience of working on a cloud platform (Snowflake) would be advantageous. You will have strong SQL querying skills, be familiar with source control systems such as GitHub or Azure DevOps, familiar with GDPR and principles of data masking or anonymisation. Candidates with experience in PowerBI, AWS RDS, Athena, PowerShell, PythonCloud ETL/ELT design patterns, and Database deployment pipelines will be looked upon favourably.
