Finance Assistant / Credit Controller

Our client, an established not for profit organisation based on the outskirts of Gloucester is looking for a finance assistant with in-depth experience of credit control and direct debits to join their small but friendly team on a full time basis. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, your duties and responsibilities will include chasing debtors for payment in an efficient manner that also delivers the highest level of customer service, allocating payments, invoicing, monitoring accounts, resolving customer queries in a timely manner and preparing monthly reports. In addition, you will be carrying out ad hoc duties relating to finance and accounts administration.
We are looking for an individual with an excellent telephone manner and strong communication and negotiation skills, who is able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and active role. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and willing to be flexible to support the organisation and have an in-depth understanding of accounts and finance as well as knowledge of Microsoft office and accounting systems. You will have good teamwork skills and an ability to build rapport and clearly convey messages to other areas within the organisation. Additionally, a qualification in finance or accounts and experience within the not for profit sector would be an advantage but not essential to secure this role.
