Housing Support Worker
Are you an experienced Support Worker looking for a new challenge? Have you worked with vulnerable and challenging groups in a supported housing environment?
Our client is one of the largest organisations of their kind, working across multiple platforms and locations to provide safe, secure accommodation for those who need it most. Their ethos ensures housing support goes hand in hand with health and wellbeing – so that when people leave they are better prepared to realise their full potential.
This position will be based in Cheltenham, reporting to the Housing Manager and Assistant Housing Manager, working shifts to encourage and support single people and families from first arrival through to a position where they can leave and secure independent accommodation of their own. It is a very hands-on role, with elements of office work but the residents and their wellbeing will be your primary focus.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a supported housing environment, with the flexibility to work to a shift pattern as required (typical shifts will be 6, 8 or 10 hours between 8am and 8pm but do vary). You will be able to form and build relationships quickly and work with professionalism and integrity at all times.
You will be supportive and a great listener, but also hold the character to correct and discipline if needed. You should be able to demonstrate that you are trustworthy, loyal and have a genuine care for the people you work with – people can stay anywhere from a few a days to a few months, and beyond.
