Paralegal / Trainee Solicitor – Conveyancing Department

Our client, an established local business in Malvern, are entering an exciting new phase of growth, and is looking for a professional and experienced individual to join their team.
The Paralegal / Trainee Solicitor will be responsible for supporting the Head of Conveyancing Department, working on a caseload of sales and purchases, mortgages, re-mortgages and commercial property files using their case management system.
The focus is on providing high standards of client care, with an emphasis on professionalism and having a pleasant demeanour. You will be providing estimates for conveyancing through a combination of telephone, email, post and through in person meetings. You will also have to deal with email, letter, telephone and fax communications promptly.
Liaising with routine client enquiries and communications, whether requests for updates from clients, solicitors, estate agents, licensed conveyancers, mortgage brokers or lenders, and maintaining file check lists. You will regularly liaise with the Land Registry to collate documents ready for the contract pack, and will assist fee earners with research where required.
The role will involve preparing reports on title, whether freehold, leasehold and unregistered, as well as mortgage and search reports being checked for sign off from the supervising fee earner. You will be involved in the exchanging of contracts under supervision, dealing with completion and the preparation and submission of Stamp Duty Land Transaction Returns, preparing and submitting applications to the Land Registry and to promptly deal with an requisitions raised the Land Registry.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate an up to date knowledge or the law and practice, and up to 3 years post qualification experience in a similar role.
The client are seeking someone with prior experience in Property law, working in a conveyancing / property department previously and now looking for a new role – candidates without prior experience will unfortunately not be considered as the client is not able to take further inexperienced trainees having filled their quota for this year.
This role is a permanent position to be based in the Malvern office, and the successful candidate will be employed on a full-time basis.
