Are you an experienced Civil Design Engineer? Are you looking for a new challenge in a thriving design practice?

Our client, an established local business in Gloucestershire are entering an exciting new phase of growth, and is looking for a professional and experienced individual to join their team.

The Senior Civil Design Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the highest possible levels of design are completed for this forward thinking consultancy. They are well placed in the industry with a strong reputation, and they are looking for individuals with a background in residential and commercial projects. Their portfolio of work includes new build developments as well as refurbishment and extension work. The range of clients is wide, from private client portfolios to long established working relationships on behalf of national brands.

You will need to be able to demonstrate 3 years minimum of post graduation experience, and have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering. You will be responsible for the design of drainage, road infrastructure, service and earthworks on a wide range of projects including industrial, residential, retail, commercial and leisure developments. You must have the ability to complete the preparation of flood risk assessments, drainage statements and service strategy reports, as well as the design of SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) fro the concept stage right through to implementation.

You will need to be able to demonstrate experience in the design and detailing of highways works under sections 38 and 278, as well as sections 104 and 185 for drainage agreements. You will need experience in permits and relevant consents as well as negotiation of technical approvals, site audits and feasibility assessments.

Software experience in AutoCAD, AutoTrack and ground modelling software is sought, and additional experience in PDS, WinDes or Civils 3D are beneficial.

This role is a permanent position to be based in the Gloucester office, and the successful candidate will need to be based at this office on a full-time contract. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, and to be involved in all aspects of the design project – from scheme design though to construction on site. Regular site visits throughout the UK will be required in line with the projects undertaken, and a full driving licence is essential for the role.
