Hooray are recruiting exclusively on behalf of a local charity for a full time, permanent, Sports Centre Manager. My Cheltenham based client, is an organisation founded on Christian values and has grown significantly in recent years – from having one supported housing project of 50 beds in 2014 to more than 250 beds today. The organisation also provides community sports activities at a dedicated sports centre in Cheltenham.

The Sports Centre Manager will be responsible for the day to day management, development of a vibrant and varied timetable of health and wellbeing activities and the promotion and marketing of the Sports Centre.

In addition, the Sports Centre Manager will, when directed, assist and facilitate with the development and delivery of health & wellbeing activities designed to proactively and positively engage with the communities in which the Charity operates.

To be successful in this role, you will have substantial knowledge of the sports, health and fitness industry and be able to manage your own workload, with minimum supervision. You will have a minimum of 2 years previous experience of working in the sports, health and fitness industry, experience of managing a team, a track record of generating income in the sports, health and fitness environment and ideally experience of working and engaging with children and young people in this environment.

The salary for this position is offered at £27,000 per annum. The organisation provides a contributory pension, 20 days holiday (increasing after 2 years with an additional extra day of holiday, up to a maximum of an additional 5 days) and up to 10 days sick pay per annum. The organisation also offers non-contractual benefits such as life assurance, health plan (such as money off dentistry and opticians), bike to work scheme and free use of the organisation’s sports facilities.
