Hooray Announces New Charity Partners with Gloucestershire’s local charities ‘Read for Good’ and ‘The Nelson Trust’ as part of their ongoing commitment to ethical recruitment.
Hooray has chosen two local charities as their new charity partners!
Gloucestershire’s leading Ethical Recruitment agency Hooray, an independent and award-winning agency based in Cheltenham, proudly announces its collaboration with local charities, ‘Read for Good’ and ‘The Nelson Trust.’
The decision reflects Hooray’s commitment to making a positive impact on the community through their ethical approach. Hooray Recruitment will actively support their charity partners by participating in fundraising activities, raising awareness, and engaging in volunteering initiatives to help support their chosen charities’ overall mission and goals.
The decision to support two new Charity Partners is rooted in Hooray’s belief in pioneering ethical recruitment for a better working world. By aligning with local charities that share principles and values, Hooray aims to contribute to the future workforce’s access to education and support individuals seeking to reintegrate into the world of work.

As an ethical recruitment business, we want to ensure we are always practising good business, and adding significant value to the local community through our fundraising efforts and the 92 (4 per employee) paid volunteer days we offer our staff.

We support many charities, however, as our official charity partners, I am very excited to see how we can support both The Nelson Trust and Read for Good in 2024 and beyond”.

‘Read for Good’:
Read for Good; is a national charity based in Gloucestershire. They work across the UK to encourage children to love reading. They work in schools and hospitals across the UK to enable, empower and motivate all children to discover the simple joy of reading.
Read for Good encourages reading through their annual Readathon®, which engages around 350,000 children in a sponsored reading challenge. They provide books and storyteller visits to bring joy to children in hospital, and deliver their Brilliant Box of Books scheme to schools and community settings where books are in short supply.

‘The Nelson Trust’
The Nelson Trust was established in 1985 in Brimscombe, near Stroud. They have helped thousands of people to recover from addiction, re-build an independent, fulfilling life and re-join the community. The charity offers an abstinence-based, residential rehabilitation programme which offers therapeutic support and practical help with housing, education, training and employment.
The Nelson Trust opened a women-only residential service in 2004 to help women with complex, multiple needs. They established their award-winning Women’s Centre in Gloucester City Centre in 2010 and now operate five more Women’s Centres in Swindon (2013) covering the Wiltshire area, Bridgewater (2019) to cover Somerset, Bristol (2020), their first of its kind centre inside HMP Eastwood Park (2021), and Cardiff (2022).
The Women’s Centres are for women who experience multiple vulnerabilities and may be at risk of offending. The centre provides women with immediate access to support and guidance on a variety of issues including family and relationships, housing, substance misuse, domestic violence, health, debt, employment and training.
Our Vision – A world where both the causes and consequences of multiple disadvantages are understood, effectively tackled, and ultimately eliminated.
Our Mission – We will be a centre of excellence bringing belief, hope, and long-term recovery to lives affected by addiction and multiple disadvantages.
